Community & Collaboration

Pacific Drive
$1000
The Anaheim Ducks are proud to present the 2019 First Flight Field Trip and we hope to attend! This field trip would get our students thinking about the engineering process by taking a closer look at exciting exhibits in an entertaining atmosphere. This field trip will combine hands-on learning with activities and displays. Best of all, it will build community by allowing parents and students the opportunity to explore Math and Science outside the classroom. This grant would allow us to invite parents to participate in real-life STEAM activities with their students and provide transportation to the event.

Imagine sending students on an adventure of aviation as they code and pilot their own drone. With the CoDrone, students will learn how to code using Python to navigate their drone through one challenge after another. Students will use the engineering process to problem solve and persevere through the difficulties of coding to specific challenges. CoDrones will be used in conjunction with our 6th-grade math and science curriculum to challenge students in the area of complex calculations such as percentages and explore engineering models with NGSS. Our students can’t wait to learn Python and navigate the skies with CoDrones.
